- Nathaniel's will of April 14, 1748 leaves to:
Grandson John Ham my estate in Launcells called Butsbeer, except the two cow meadows, after the death of my wife.
Granddaughter Prudence Ham the fields called Butsbeer Parks and the two meadows part of Butsbeer as above except after the death of my wife.
Daughter Mary Short ten pounds to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Grandson James Short ten pounds to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Son in law John Short five pounds to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Brother John Harefoot ten shillings and ten shillings apiece to his two children to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Brother Roger Harefoot ten shillings and ten shillings apiece to his two children to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Sister Mary Lashbrook twenty shillings and ten shillings to her daughter to be paid one year and a half after my death.
Sister Sara Facey ten shillings to be paid one year after my death.
All the rest of my goods and chattels to my loving wife Catherine Harefoot, sole executrix.
[Nathaniel's name is spelt as Hairfoot in the will and probate]
Probate was passed on 26 September, only 5 months later. Nathaniel was buried on 25th September 1748.
