Notes - Sarah was living at Jan Juc when she married William. Her uncle Robert had a large holding of land in Torquay.
Robert left her about £1900 in his will with which she acquired land in Duneed.
Geelong Advertiser, January 3rd, 1906:
HAM - On the 1st January, 1906, at her residence, Waurn Ponds, Sarah, dearly beloved wife of (Councillor) William Ham, at 83 years.
The funeral cortege will leave her late residence, Waurn Ponds, on Wednesday at 2 o'clock pm, to Highton Cemetery.
Friends are respectfully invited.
Geelong Advertiser, 4th January, 1906:
The remains of the late Mrs. Sarah Ham, wife of Cr. Ham, a very old and respected resident of Waurn Ponds, were yesterday interred in theHightonCemetery. The respect in which the deceased was held was evidenced by the attendance at the funeral, the cortege consisting of hearse, twomourningcoaches and 38 private vehicles. Many beautiful floral tributes were placed on the coffin by sympathising friends. The coffin-bearers wereMessrs.A.G. White, T. McKim, W. Gundry and J. Hunt. The pall was supported by Messrs. L. Walter, J. Robinson, R. Piper, S. Brien, G. Williams andC.Bedggood. The Rev. A. Madsen officiated at the house and grave. Mr. R.N. Carbines carried out the mortuary arrangements.
