Notes - Was the illegitimate daughter of Isabella Officer (domestic servant) and William Croll (farm servant) Lived at, and was married at Kinnear Square, Laurencekirk after banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. Witnesses were a Randall Scott (James' brother) and a Mary Watson (could have been her step, possibly half, sister through her mother's marriage to James Watson) N.B. the Minister was Thomas Scott, but appears to have been no relation. Burial plot (Lair) in Laurencekirk Kirkyard is numbered A212, and was bought, by Jessie, in March 1926. Lair number A213 was bought at the same time in the name of Isabella Watson who was Jessie's mother - Isabella having married James Watson in 1878. Death Certificate gives name as Jessie Croll Scott - her mother (only) is recorded as Isabella Officer. Registered by William Scott (son) then living at 20 Mill Street, Montrose.
