Notes - Written by Daisy Duguid Gove
My dad (David Gove) was one of eight, the seventh, to be exact. His eldest sister seems to have been omitted, probably by me, but she is the most important one because she lived only 100 yards from us. She was actually illegitimate ( I don't know if it matters). Her mother was Jane Duguid, but Alexander Gove was not her father. She was born in 1887 and died in 1947. Her name was Daisy Duguid, and I was named after her, but my middle name is spelt wrong on my birth certificate, and I just kept it like that. Anyway, she married David Mitchell, and they had four children: Nellie, born about 1916 and probably dead; Jean (1918-1999) who never married; Jim born about 1922 and probably dead; and Charlie(1926-1977) who was married and I knew his wife, but I cannot remember her name, and they had two sons . This is just for your interest, but she was especially dear to my dad, because she brought him up.
