    • NEW COURT HOUSE, EUROA We give above a sketch of the new Court house, erected in Binney street, Euroa. The building is of novel design, and in this respect is in keeping with the other leading public and private buildings of the town. Mr. Diggall, the contractor for its erection, carried out his work to the satisfaction of Mr. Seamark, the Government inspector. In addition to a large, well lighted and ventilated court, there are rooms for the magistrates and the clerk of cours, each fitted up in a most convenient manner. The interior fittings have been made by Mr. George Whyte, and reflect great credit on him, the workmanship being of the best description.

  • Notes
    • Supposed to have travelled to Australia as a young man. I have a reference to a Geo Whyte, age 23, travelling on ship Orient to Melbourne from a British port, arriving in May 1886, Is this him?? He does not appear in the 1881 census so he may have come earlier but is back with his parents in the 1901 census.
Photo in front of house taken by Wall Bros of Inkerman Street, St Kilda.
He was involved in doing building work in Euroa, Victoria, Australia. Is it possbile that the photo was taken in Euroa?
