  Grace must have just been pregnant when Richard died in January 1846 as she had a baby Richard Harvey Ham in October of that year (according toLeonHam). The baby died at age 15 months in January 1848 'unbaptised" according to the Stratton parish burial register. Grace administered Richard's estate as he died intestate. In the 1881 Census, Grace is listed as: Widow, age 78, born in Bideford, Devon, living with daughter Bessie Balsdon, also a widow, poulterer, age 45, born in Stratton. They lived in "Bowden" in Stratton.
