- Thomas is mentioned as Executor in his father John's will of 5 May 1762:
Also I give and bequeath unto my Youngest Son Stephen Pethick the Sum of Twenty Pounds lawfull money to be paid to him when he shall attain theageof twenty one years (and as he is now a Cripple) I do order my Executor to maintain & provide for him meet & convenient, Meat, Drink,Washing,Lodging, & Apparrel of all kinds according to his degree until he shall attain the age of twenty one years. And further, it is my Will thatmyExecutor shall find & provide for my said Son Stephen Pethick sufficient Meat, Drink, Washing & Lodging according to his degree. After thesaidStephen Pethick shall attain the age of twenty one years so long as my right that I now have in the Estate called Marrys Mills where I nowdwellshall continue, And if my said Son Stephen shall dislike the diet that my Executor provides for him and shall goe from my Executor to live,then Iorder my Executor to pay him fourty Shillings a Year by Quarterly payments so long as my right shall continue in Marrys Mills as Aforesaid.
Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Pethick of Week St Mary, labourer, all the rest of my Goods, Chattles, Credits & Efects not yet givennorbequeathed which said Son Thomas I make and ordain my Sole Executor.
