    • John's will of 5 May 1762. He was buried on 30 July 1762.
      I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Jory of Week St Mary, widow, the sum of Two Pounds & two shillings lawfull money to be paid at theendof one year after my Death.
      I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susannah Pethick of Week St Mary, spinster, the sum of Thirty Pounds lawfull money to be paid at the end ofoneyear after my Death.
      I give and bequeath unto my son Humphry Pethick of Week St Mary, carpenter, the sum of Five Pounds lawfull money to be paid at the end of oneyearafter my Death.
      I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Pethick of Week St Mary, carpenter, the sum of Twenty Pounds lawfull money to be paid at the end of oneyearafter my Death. And I likewise give unto my said son Joseph all my Carpenters working tools of all kinds (except my Pump Tools) and my PumpTools ofall kinds I give joyntely between my two sons Humphry & Joseph and neither of them to sell nor diminish any of the said Pump Tools buteither tohave the use of the said Tools when he has any Pump Work to do and if either of them break or hurt any of the said Tools he shall reparethe sameagain at his own expence. And I likewise give unto my Joseph the Chest standing by the position in the Chamber the left hand from the Starehead.
      Also I give and bequeath unto my Youngest Son Stephen Pethick the Sum of Twenty Pounds lawfull money to be paid to him when he shall attain theageof twenty one years (and as he is now a Cripple) I do order my Executor to maintain & provide for him meet & convenient, Meat, Drink,Washing,Lodging, & Apparrel of all kinds according to his degree until he shall attain the age of twenty one years. And further, it is my Will thatmyExecutor shall find & provide for my said Son Stephen Pethick sufficient Meat, Drink, Washing & Lodging according to his degree. After thesaidStephen Pethick shall attain the age of twenty one years so long as my right that I now have in the Estate called Marrys Mills where I nowdwellshall continue, And if my said Son Stephen shall dislike the diet that my Executor provides for him and shall goe from my Executor to live,then Iorder my Executor to pay him fourty Shillings a Year by Quarterly payments so long as my right shall continue in Marrys Mills as Aforesaid.
      Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Pethick of Week St Mary, labourer, all the rest of my Goods, Chattles, Credits & Efects not yet givennorbequeathed which said Son Thomas I make and ordain my Sole Executor.

      There is no mention in his will of his son William Pethick who was still alive, married and living in Mary St Week.
