George Henry started school at the newly opened Undera state school in 1876, and in June 1879, at the age of eight years and four months was transferred to the North Mooroopna state school. His brothers Phillip, David and James were also transferred at the same time.
George Henry and Elizabeth Isabella Alexander were married at the Undera Presbyterian Church on 15 September 1897. At the time. George was farming at Undera, and Elizabeth had been living with her parents David and Lucretia Alexander at Undera North.
Their first child Francis George was born the following year, but he only lived for a few months. Although the date of his death has been given by the family as 30 May 1899, Mooroopna Cemetery records state that his burial date was 23 April, 1899.
Elizabeth and George had five more children between 1900 and 1916. Annie, born at Tatura on 3 April 1916, is the only survivor of the family.
George Henry Baker opened a butcher's shop in Undera in 1925. This is noted in W H Bossencets 'Tatura' and G M Rathbone's Centenary History of Undera State School and District'.
