  There is no record of her birth in the Parish Registers of Brechin In the 1841 Census Margaret was just two months old. By the 1851 Census she was listed a being nine years. She had apparently left home by the 1861 Census. Married in May 1862 to James Edward Robertson, according to the rites of the United Presbyterian Church. She was married from 145 Montrose Street, Brechin. Duncan Robertson (?husband's brother) and Christina Scott, her sister were witnesses. In the 1871 Census in Laurencekirk married to james Robertson & living at 9 High Street.
