  Hester married Thomas when she was 25 and he was a widower age 68. She had six chidren by him, the last being born after he died in 1818. In 1835, when her eldest son was 22 and the twin girls, Ann and Sarah were nearly 18, Hester sailed with her family from Bristol to Canada. Shehadthree brothers and their families living in Upper Canada (Ontario). She settled on land in Nissouri Township
