Notes - There is a memorial on the wall inside the chapel in St James Anglican Church in Tytherington carved by Thomas in memory of his son and wife.
This Memorial
is erected in memory of JAMES, eldest son of
THOMAS AND SARAH BEDGGOOD
of this Parish
who departed this life April 30, 1802
in the 27th Year of his Age:
Four years in a decline I lived,
With cruel pains oppress'd,
Till God was pleased to give me ease,
And take me to his rest,
My father and my mother kind,
To death, you know we are consigned;
Physicians, you have sought in vain,
To save my life, to ease my pain.
But Christ the great Physician of souls
hath done both.
Also in memory of SARAH, wife of
THOMMAS BEDGGOOD aforesaid,
who departed this life March 15, 1803,
Aged 65 years:
She was an affectionate Wife, a tender Mother,
and a sincere Friend.
Five years later, Thomas remarried to Hester Alway. She was 25 and he was 68. She bore him six children, the last being born after he died in 1818atage 75.
hester went to Canada with her children.
