Notes - John Price was a Pentonvillian i.e. he had been a prisoner in the Pentonville Penitentiary Prison. His crime was "feloniously killing 1 ewewithintent to steal part of the carcass." He had been convicted on March 9, 1843 at Stafford and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
He came to Geelong as an exile on the "Sir George Seymour" in 1845. He is listed as married, age 26, with a trade of carpenter which he hadbeentaught in prison. He was engaged by Mr H. Gibb of the Portland district for 1 year for 17shillings.
He and Elizabeth married in 1851. Whether he divorced or not from his first wife is not known or it may be recorded wrongly that he was married.
