David Cargill set up a butcher shop on the north side of the Church of England in Broadmeadows.

David apparently 'prospered' in his work as a butcher.

John apparently broker the business into two, with
a) primary butcher operation operated by Robert 'Bob'
b) the killing operation to Jack

The 'butcher carts served a wide area'.

The brothers bought sheep and bullocks form the Newmarket sale yards weekly.
They bred their own pigs.

Further to the 'fallout' with their father David, Bob moved to Sydney and Jack to Gippsland. Following David's 'passing', both brothers returned to Broadmeadows
• Sold their fathers business AND
• Built a new shop opposite

Eventually Bob sold out to Underwood and went into retirement.

To daughter-in-law Bridget Ham, house called Winswood, and after her death going to my granddaughter Joan.
To grandson Richard Ham, house called Burrage in Morwenstow, 4 years after my death.
To grandson Benjamin Ham, 60 pounds
To grandson John Ham, 60 pounds at age 21
To grandson William Ham, 60 pounds at age 21
To grandchildren Thomas and Joan, 50 pounds equally at age 21
To his friends John Honey and Thomas Gist use of Burrage for 4 years after my death. (They are named as executors and to see to the maintenanceofthe younger children).

Administration of the will on 27 October 1730, granted to William Ham of Bradworthy, Devon (grandson) as both executors had died leavingcertainitems in the will unadministered and undisposed of.
